Michael Chandler talks about remuneration and ESG issues on ABC

"Last year was a surprise to us, we saw higher level of dissent on remuneration than we had expected, particularly when you think that we are now six years removed from the introduction of the "two strikes" rule on remuneration... There is somehow a disconnect between what executives are receiving as annual bonus and how the shareholders' investment performances have fared," commented Michael Chandler, Director Corporate Governance, Morrow Sodali Australia, on ABC.

During an interview on the Australian news channel, Chandler was asked to comment about remuneration practices and ESG issues. "The environmental activist groups are very strong in engagement with companies... They have a big voice and they get support from fellow shareholders on their initiatives but we are seeing more actively in that space is concern around environmental impact, targets and disclosure."
